Which are the Most Accurate Bathroom Scales?

For people on diets or tracking factors like water retention, accurate bathroom scales becomes a must. While most homes in the past had a mechanical scale, these are being thrown out in favor of the sleeker and more accurate digital scales. In many cases, knowing one’s weight to a gram isn’t absolutely necessary but, when it is, the mechanical scales just don’t measure up. They work on a spring based system which makes the measuring gauge move according to the amount of pressure. These may be good to get a general idea of one’s weight but they are far from precise or accurate. That is because the springs become elastic over time and will not deliver accurate results. The most accurate bathroom scales are digital. These work on a system that uses a sensor called a load cell. When you stand on the scale, the sensor is strained and it flexes and the amount of resistance changes based on the weight. This can be exactly measured in order to give an accurate reading.

When looking for the most accurate bathroom scales, you should take into consider a few key factors. First, check to what amount the scale will weigh. For home use, you can usually find scales accurate to a tenth of a gram or more. The next most important factor to consider is the warranty. A digital scale will not lose accuracy over time like a mechanical scale- they work or they don’t. That is why a long warranty is worth it. Other factors include style, size, material, price and brand name. Unfortunately, the general rule of “you get what you pay for” is true with digital scales. To get a really accurate scale that will last, you will need to pay for it.
